Electricity Subsidy for Businesses: Everything You Need to Know Before the Deadline Expires

Time is counting down for businesses wishing to benefit from the electricity subsidy for the months of December 2024, January and February 2025. If you are a non-residential consumer with a professional activity, read carefully—the deadline expires on Thursday, June 12, 2025 .

📝 Who are the beneficiaries?

The subsidy concerns all businesses with non-domestic electricity consumption , commercial/general or industrial use, and gross revenues up to 10 million euros for the tax year 2023 (Code 047 of E3). Those active in the primary production of agricultural products, fishing and aquaculture are excluded, in accordance with the De minimis regulation.

What conditions must beneficiaries meet:

1. Registration of VAT number with the Network Operator and the Electricity Supplier.

2. Have a floating invoice with a green or yellow color for the subsidy months.

3. No identified power theft since 1/1/2020, with outstanding overdue debts.

🗂️ Beneficiary Categories

Beneficiaries are categorized into 4 groups, based on gross income or the main KAD :

🅰 Category A

• Revenue ≤ €500,000 (or new businesses with no revenue)

• Subsidy: 20 €/MWh (0.02 €/kWh) at 100% of consumption

🅱 Category B

• Revenue > €500,000 and ≤ €1,000,000

• Subsidy: 20 €/MWh (0.02 €/kWh) at 80% of consumption

🅲 Category C

• Revenue > €1,000,000 and ≤ €10,000,000

• Subsidy: 20 €/MWh (0.02 €/kWh) at 60% of consumption

🅳 Category D (based on KAD)

• KAD 10.71, 10.72 (bakery, confectionery), and 96.01 (dry cleaning)

• Subsidy: 40 €/MWh (0.04 €/kWh) at 100% of consumption

• Enter the online platform and submit your application before June 12 .

• Make sure that your details (VAT number, CIN, income) are up-to-date and correctly declared in your tax register.
