Student Housing Allowance – Deadline Expires on Friday 31/7/2026

We would like to inform you that the deadline for the electronic submission of applications for the Student Housing Allowance for the 2025-2026 academic year expires on Friday, 31 July 2026. Any eligible students who have not yet submitted an application should proceed without delay, as no submissions will be possible after the deadline expires.

What the allowance covers

It is addressed to students studying in a city other than that of their main residence, who rent accommodation for the purposes of their studies.

Approved cohabitation with another undergraduate student	€2,000
Studies outside Attica/Thessaloniki and cohabitation	€2,500 (maximum)

Basic requirements

• Undergraduate student at a Higher Education Institution (AEI) or Higher Ecclesiastical Academy, without another undergraduate degree
• Within the prescribed duration of studies
• Successful examination in at least half of the previous year's courses (does not apply to first-year students)
• Must not reside in a student hall of residence, nor receive free accommodation from the school
• Lease agreement valid for at least 6 months within the academic year
• Submitted tax return (without it, the application is automatically rejected)

Income criterion

Family income of up to €30,000, increased by €3,000 for each dependent child beyond the first.

By way of exception, for students of the Democritus University of Thrace, the University of the Aegean and the University of Western Macedonia, the annual family income must not exceed €40,000, increased by €3,000 for each dependent child beyond the first.
