“We Produce in Greece”: Business Support Scheme with a €50 Million Budget

Applications have been underway since 31 March for the new business support scheme titled “We Produce in Greece”, with a total budget of €50 million. It is a targeted initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s productive activity and improving the competitiveness of Greek businesses in export-oriented sectors.

The scheme focuses on investments that increase domestic production, strengthen the presence of Greek products in international markets, and at the same time cover a larger share of domestic demand with products of Greek origin.

What is funded

Businesses that join the program can receive funding for a wide range of investment activities aimed at modernization and growth.

More specifically, investments in new machinery and production facilities are subsidized, helping to increase efficiency and production capacity. At the same time, special emphasis is placed on technological upgrading through the integration of digital solutions, automation, and Industry 4.0 systems.

An important part of the funding also concerns the acquisition of quality certifications and compliance with international standards, which enhance the export potential of businesses. At the same time, expenses related to product design, branding, and the development of commercial identity are covered, as well as promotional activities and participation in international trade fairs.

Special provision is also made for strengthening human resources through the subsidization of payroll costs for new, specialized employees.

Who can participate

The scheme is addressed to existing small, very small, and medium-sized enterprises, which must meet certain basic requirements.

It is necessary for the business to have completed at least one closed financial year and to have been active in an eligible KAD activity code before submitting the application. In addition, the business must have at least one annual work unit (AWU), as recorded in the ERGANI system.

Turnover is also of particular importance, as the investment budget may not exceed twice the highest turnover recorded in previous years.

How much funding is available

The budget of the investment plans ranges from €100,000 to €400,000, while the subsidy rate ranges from 50% to 55%.

The maximum amount of aid reaches €200,000 per business, while it may rise to €220,000 in the case of rapid implementation of the investment plan.

This additional subsidy (5% bonus) is granted provided that the business manages to implement at least 80% of the investment within 9 months from its approval.

Important conditions and pitfalls

The participation process requires particular attention, as there are specific commitments and restrictions.

Each business may submit only one application, while the investment must be implemented in only one regional category. At the same time, the investment may not be completed before the application is submitted, nor may the same expenses be financed by another program.

It is also necessary to cover at least 25% own participation, as well as to have a clear financing plan.

In addition, the co-location of businesses in the same premises is not allowed when there is the possibility of shared use of the equipment, while cases where the registered business seat is a residence are excluded.

Finally, after completion of the investment, businesses are required to achieve specific productivity performance targets; otherwise, there is a risk of having to repay part of the grant.

Deadline and application process

The application period runs from 31 March to 2 June 2026, and applications are submitted exclusively online through OPSKE.

Particular care is required when completing the application, as submission is not allowed if all mandatory fields have not been completed or if the minimum score of 75 points is not achieved during the self-assessment.

Applications are evaluated on a comparative basis, which means that proper preparation of the application file is crucial for approval.

Regional allocation

Funding is allocated by region, with the largest share directed to the less developed regions of the country, while a smaller percentage concerns regions in transition, such as Attica and the South Aegean.
