According to current data, the following also applies for 2026:

🏦 A seizure-exempt bank account of up to €1,250 📌 In one single bank account per individual 🖥️ With a mandatory electronic declaration to AADE

📜 Current legislation states that in a joint account, the deposit is presumed to belong to all account holders in equal shares.

➡️ Therefore, the seizure applies only to the debtor's share and not to the total amount.

💡 Changes under discussion

Various proposals appear to be on the table regarding the seizure-exempt bank account, with the most prevailing one referring to an increase of the limit to €1,700 (up from €1,250 currently).
